Gouverneur Morris attended private schools and at a Protestant school in New Rochelle. As a young man, he broke a leg in a carriage accident. He attended King's College (now Columbia University) in New York City, and graduated in 1768 when he was 16 years old. Three years later, he was accepted to work in New York court. Morris became interested in political activities since the inception of the Revolution.
